About Us
We aren't just providers, we are parents too and we have been on both sides of care for complex kids. It is from our own frustration that we created a practice that parents can trust and progress can be made. All of our providers and staff are committed to providing the expertise you need and the compassion you deserve.
OUR APPROACH

We specialize in helping families navigate the medical comorbidities of multiple complex disorders including autism spectrum disorder, connective tissue disorders, genetic issues, mitochondrial dysfunction, and more.
We begin by gathering and analyzing each patient's medical history. Additional comprehensive testing is done as needed to fill in the gaps. This gives us the information we need to systematically identify and treat complex constellations of symptoms. Our goal is improved health and quality of life for all our patients.

We believe that the best, most comprehensive care happens when multiple experts in multiple disciplines work together on each case. This collaborative, individualized care approach paired with our unique framework for systematic medical investigation is why doctors across the country send their toughest cases to our clinic.

Mikela Sorenson
MSN, FNP-BC
Mikela Sorenson is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Pediatric Nurse. Mikela has worked in the Medical Field for over 8 years.

Before joining Lighthouse Complex Care, she worked as a primary care provider, taking care of patients of all ages, diagnosing and managing both chronic and acute conditions. Prior to primary care, Mikela specialized in pediatrics as both a Registered Nurse and then as a Nurse Practitioner. She started her nursing career at Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse, New York, where she moved between all pediatric units and learned to manage a large variety of patients to include surgical, oncology and ICU. She then moved to the Pediatric operating room and concurrently worked part time as a Registered Nurse at an inpatient pediatric psychiatric facility while completing her Master's in Nursing.
Mikela became interested in integrative medicine during her primary care experience when she realized that conventional medicine alone was not always enough to help her patients. She wanted to find more options for her patients and widen her knowledge base. Her goal is to help those she cares for as much as possible and she realizes that this may take different skill sets. Additionally, Mikela was attracted to Lighthouse as both her and her husband grew up in Colorado and that area will always hold a special place in her heart.
